On March 12, 2026, Huaneng Pengzhou Thermal Power Plant's Unit 1 combined cycle unit successfully completed a 168-hour full-load test run, demonstrating stable operation and excellent performance indicators. The Unit 1 steam turbine generator was successfully connected to the grid on December 20, 2025.

    The Huaneng Pengzhou Gas Turbine Project is a natural gas power generation initiative situated in Longfeng Street, Pengzhou City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It stands as a pivotal gas-fired power project outlined in Sichuan Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" for energy development. The project entails the construction of two F-class enhanced gas turbine-steam combined cycle units (M701F4), accompanied by flue gas denitrification devices, boasting a total installed capacity of up to 1 million kilowatts. Not only is this project a focal point for energy development in Sichuan Province, but it also marks Chengdu's inaugural gas peaking power station initiative. Upon its commissioning, the project is anticipated to generate approximately 2.33 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, effectively alleviating the power consumption pressure on the load center and refining the regional power supply structure.
