Huaneng's * gas turbine projects in Sichuan have been put into full-capacity operation
On March 31st, with the successful completion of 168 hours of continuous trial operation for Unit 2, the * unit achieved dual-unit dual-operation just 19 days after its commissioning. As of now, Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. has achieved full-capacity operation for * gas turbine projects in Sichuan.
The Huaneng Pengzhou Gas Turbine Project, with a total installed capacity of 983,200 kilowatts, is a key project in Sichuan Province's energy development and power development plans. It is also the first natural gas peaking power plant in Chengdu. Once the project is fully operational, it will enable efficient on-site conversion of natural gas resources, fully leverage the advantages of gas-fired power stations, such as fast start-up and strong peaking capacity, precisely match the fluctuating demand of Chengdu's power load, and strengthen the local energy security defense line.
On March 12, 2026, the No.1 combined cycle unit of Huaneng Pengzhou Thermal Power Plant successfully completed a 168-hour full-load test run. Currently, the unit is operating stably with excellent performance indicators.
The gas turbine intake and exhaust systems for both Unit 1 and Unit 2 of this project are provided by Huaqiang New Energy.
