As a key project of the Thermoelectric Group under Jinan Energy Group, this project boasts advantages such as rapid start-up, high efficiency, low emissions, and excellent peak shaving performance. It is also a key livelihood project aimed at optimizing the regional energy structure and enhancing energy supply security. Upon completion, the project is expected to generate 620 million kWh of electricity annually. Once operational, it will deliver clean and warm energy to residents and provide flexible support to the power grid.

        Dongfang Electric embarked on the path of independent research and development for the 50-megawatt heavy-duty gas turbine (G50) in 2009. In 2019, the G50 underwent a successful ignition test, marking the birth of China's first F-class 50-megawatt heavy-duty gas turbine. In March 2023, the G50 demonstration unit successfully passed its trial run at the natural gas distributed energy station in Huadian Qingyuan Overseas Chinese Industrial Park, officially becoming ready for commercial operation. In March 2024, the G50 demonstration unit passed the operational assessment at the distributed energy station in Deyang Economic Development Zone, Sichuan, once again verifying its mature commercial application capabilities. In October 2025, the mature G50 gas turbine was shipped to the Jinan Thermal Power Huashan project.
